My winning photo

Hey it's a bonus Friday post!
heehee...
Remember I was telling you I won my first ever giveaway over on

It was courtesy of Andrea at Doublclik
she is fantastic!!
I really really love doing photo projects and her work with photoshop inspires me!
DoublClik Blog

I won a photo makeover, if you will,
and while I had trouble finding a waist-up photo of just me,
*really difficult*
I sent her what I had.
It was actually a photo my daughter had taken of me.
The outcome is surreal.

Check it out and check out the rest of her work too.
It's amazing!

Thanks, Andrea!
It was so much FUN!

It's Friday...let's fill it in!

We made it, peeps!
It's Friday!
I for one, am really glad.
I haven't quite felt myself this week.
I'm looking forward to a fun weekend with family.

Let's fill it the blanks, courtesy of Lauren at

1.   My current obsession is Halloween - decorations, costumes, food.  You name it, if it's for Halloween, I want it!

2. Sunshine makes me happy.

3.  My greatest strength is list-making.  haha...It used to be remembering absolutely everything but baby brain kicked in 7 years ago and never left.

4.  My sensitivity is my greatest weakness.

5.  My life is  everything I have always dreamed it would be.  A fantastic hubby, wonderful kids and we are all healthy and happy.

6.  In high school I was  moody.

7.  When I'm super tired I feel like I want to cry.  Or I get super grumpy.    ; )

Have a super weekend, everyone!

Halloweeny

via

Halloween is still a month away
but my girls are OBSESSED with it right now!

Actually to be honest,
*their excitement is rubbing off on me*
I love the decorations and cool things that are in the stores right now.

But I have to strategically shop for Halloween items
because my little one, M is terrified of the store displays.
They really are so scary and
Walmart has spooky music too.
Poor thing.

I did manage to get out by myself the other day
and I bought a little spooky fence for our front bed.

I also bought a wreath for the front door.

My hubby bought some spooky skull lanterns, the eyes light up and change colours.

We also have giant spiders that we put up on the front of our house.
It's going to look really halloween-y around here!

Once everything is up, I'll take pics for you to see!
Because it is a little early still.

In the meantime I have been online looking for some spoooooky ideas!

Aaaaaand...it's Fall!

Good Monday morning, sweet peas!
Did you have a lovely weekend?
We had summer-like weather here this weekend but today it feels like fall.
It looks like fall too,
the leaves are turning
and falling...
It's beautiful!
I'm always sad to say goodbye to summer
but as soon as I see those gorgeous leaves
and get to wear comfy sweaters and scarves,
all is well again.

Yesterday we went to a local amusement park and there were fall
colours everywhere!
They also had it decorated for Halloween since the park closes for the year mid-October.
It was SO much fun and just a gorgeous day!
I'll share some pics!  Here we go...

The view driving to the park

M peeking out from the train

Spooky Street

He greeted us as we entered a ride! We had to walk underneath him!

I caught a terrible cold the day after I came home from the coast so that was lovely.
Wasn't feeling too great for the Keith Urban concert on Friday night.
But that did NOT matter,
I still had a BLAST with my sister.
He puts on an AMAZING show!

Us gals ready for Keith!

We were 19th row on the floor, great seats!  We were joking that the tallest guy in the place will probably sit smack dab in front of us.  That always ALWAYS happens to me.
Sure enough...
Figures.

Keith (cause I can dream that we are on a first name basis)
had a GIANT circular screen behind him, so cool.

Disco ball, amazing!

The Grand Finale

It was a great weekend!
Tell me what YOU did!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Hello lovelies!
It's Friday, which is so weird, it doesn't feel like Friday.
I feel all mixed up this week.
I got home from the coast on Monday and felt out of sorts.
It was hard to get back into the routine right away.
But I have been so relaxed this week, it's quite nice.
However, I did end up with a terrible cold.
Darn planes.

On a lighter note, I am THRILLED beyond belief to tell you that I won my
first ever giveaway over at The Bookness!!!
Yes, I did!
I love her blog, she is a very sweet soul.

She offered a giveaway courtesy of Andrea at Doublclik!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE her work.
She specializes in photo retouching and just won the Photoshop World Guru Award in Las Vegas!
So now I have the incredible honor of being the recipient of her work!
She is going to rework a pic of moi.
I cannot WAIT to see the results.
Seriously, I'm going to try not to stalk her but I can't wait to see how it turns out!
Keep checking back here or her blog for the results!
Thank you both, ladies, I'm so excited!

And now on to Filling it in!

1.   The best thing I did all week was being able to visit one of my bestest friends, I've missed her.

2. Chai tea lattes from Starbucks make me super happy.

3.  Pets are comforting.

4.   My family is the best thing about my life.

5.  With the cooler weather I am looking forward to  watching movies under blankets and pillows by the fire.

6.  Something that's on my "wish list" right now is  a tall  jewelry box that stands on the floor, I'm in need of a big one! : )

7.  This weekend I am going to  the Keith Urban concert!!!  And basking in the 28 degree celcius (about 82F) sunshine!  Crazy warm fall here!

What are you up to this weekend?
Enjoy, lovelies!

West Coast trip

*Hello, sweet peas!*
I am back.
And it was wonderful.

We went kayaking...yep that's us!

Walked in the forest...this is my friend...

View from our B&B

The B&B...

Me in the forest...

My girl and her pups...

Her town is adorable, remote, beautiful.
They live south of town on a gorgeous property where she can keep her horse.
I hope she doesn't mind that I'm posting pics of her but this one is awesome.

It is so incredibly peaceful there and the air is fresh and rejuenating.
I could stare at the ocean for hours.

We shopped in town at the cute shops, went spa-ing (so lovely!),
went to see the salmon starting to spawn (amazing!),
did some beachcombing (brought lots of shells home)
danced liked crazy to a live band one night (sooo FUN!),
had a fire on the beach one night (she can start a fire like any pro, damp wood and all)
and generally relaxed and gabbed.
And gabbed some more.
I loved it.
Thank you for a wonderful time, my lovely friend.

Oh and everything went perfectly smooth with the flights.
Yay!

I can't wait to take my family back someday.

I will miss my family a LOT but I am ready for a getaway!

Lists have been made for hubs, clothes washed and laid out for the littles for school
(at hubby's request)
And I'm almost packed.
I promise I will take tonnes of pics, like a good little blogger,
and share them with you when I get back.
I'm back to the blog on Tuesday (hopefully).

I *may* tweet along the way so tune if you like.
I will miss you all, I'll have a lot of blog-hopping to do when I return!
Have a great weekend!
: )

This awaits...

city to city

Anyone visiting San Diego soon?
Wish I was.
I'd LOVE to cozy up in this rental property.
It was featured on HGTV, on a show I was watching called
House Hunters on Vacation.
Alrighty, sign me up!

Gorgeous, yes?
This rental may be a weeee bit out of our price range but it's fun to look, don't ya think?

My hubby and I try to go on little getaways now and then
(yay for Grandparents who babysit)
and we have a list of cities we'd like to visit.
San Diego and San Francisco are near the top of our lists.

So far we have visited Las Vegas (this year was the first time I'd ever been!)
and Boston 2 years ago.
My hubby is a HUUUUGE Red Sox fan.
I decided there had been enough talk and it was time he got to see a Red Sox game
at Fenway Park.
I organized it and we went.

I think I was more excited than he was,
just getting to see him walk into Fenway Park was like a dream.
We saw 2 ball games there!

It was cold, I had about 4 layers on here!

Wonder where we'll go to next?!
Where do you like to go for quick getaways?
