So this is the time of year when I feel like
reorganizing, cleaning, tidying, tossing
redecorating...
you get the idea.
So my hubs figured we needed to hit Ikea.
Oh Ikea.
I love you.
I hate you.
I really don't know how to feel about this store.
I love to walk through and look at everything.
They make everything look so nice.
I like buying little things from there.
Plant pots.
Candle holders.
We even bought plates there and use them for our day to day.
But I really don't enjoy buying furniture there.
I just don't like it.
And we have a tonne of it.
I get overwhelmed trying to narrow down what to buy.
It drives my hubby nuts.
So usually I just say 'ok'
and let him get what he thinks will work.
He has awesome taste.
But for some reason I just don't like the stuff!!
In other people's homes it looks great!
Maybe I just don't know how to put it all together.
Ok, really, I just stink at decorating.
Anyway, we bought a dresser and it's decent.
Not the love of my life but it'll do.
But I DID get this baby:
I am in desperate need of some storage for art supplies, scrapbooking
type stuff and little doo-dads.
The girls and I have been doing a tonne of crafts and artwork
lately and I keep accumulating supplies with no
where to put them.
So I am THRILLED to get this sucker put together.
*it's the little things*
; )
Maybe someday I'll actually have a craft/art room like this one:
Or this one:
AAANNNNND my hubby bought me a tall jewelry chest for my birthday.
So today I transferred all of my jewelry from my little box, dresser, bathroom,
wherever I had jewelry laying around,
to my new beautiful jewelry tower.
I'm still organizing but I'll try and take a pic when it's all done.
It's in my closet.
LOVE LOVE it.
So bit by bit we are getting organized,
although my living room still looks as if Santa's workshop exploded.
Gotta get on that soon, it's driving me bonkers.
So now I have to go search online for a
wicked (yes I just aged myself there)
label maker!
Maria says I need to have one.
: )

I need to organize not only my closet but also the rest of my place. Sheri, last year for NYE I was at home and do you know what I did? I cleaned out my kitchen cabinets and threw out popcorn that expired in 2007. Go ahead...go ahead laugh it's ok!
awww, a jewelry chest sounds fantastic! :)
and i love ikea because they have really cute stuff and they are so affordable too! but the problem i have with that is i end up liking everything and i can't decide which one to get. ;)

I feel the same way about Ikea, I hate it and I love it. I feel like their furniture looks good, but won't hold up for very long.
oh ikea... I hate to love it. We furnished our whole NYC apartment from there a few months ago when we moved and while I'm pleased with the result, it's kinda painful having to put all that furniture together...
ps. Have just stumbled across your lovely blog and I think it's fabulous!
