This year Christmas feels different to me.
I found it hard to get into the spirit of it when my
Grandma was so ill and my Mom was so sad.
Then we lost my Grandma and I felt melancholy, a feeling so many people feel
at this time of year.
Christmas used to be exciting and wonderous and happy.
Always.
Our immediate families are all in the same city
so I have never had to experience missing anyone at Christmas time
or feeling lonely.
The closest I have come to that feeling is every other year when
my sister and her family
travel to be with her husband's family.
I realize why this time of year can be hard for people.
My heart goes out to you if you are having a rough time this Christmas.
But...
I realize that I am so incredibly lucky to have my
wonderful family around me.
We have a warm, festive home.
My family is healthy.
And we are together.
My 3 little girls, who are 7, 7 and 5 make it all come
alive for me again.
They are tracking Santa on Norad, eating all the goodies we have on our
table to eat.
Sometimes I find them lying by the tree, looking at the
presents and wondering what could
possibly be inside!
I remember my sister and I doing the same thing!
I am so thankful for them, lifting my spirits back up.
I am so thankful for them, lifting my spirits back up.
My girls shopped for each other and
it made my heart sing to see how excited they
got picking out the perfect thing that they knew
their sister would love.
They can't wait for their sisters to open the
presents they picked out.
I am so lucky to live in Canada and
have wonderful people in my lives.
Including you, my fab bloggy friends.
I absolutely love to blog,
and I am amazed at how I have become connected to so many of you.
I am so grateful for that.
Christmas Eve is my favourite part about Christmas!
I am feeling that special feeling that only Christmas Eve holds...
Love, happiness, contentment, excitement,
gratefulness.
It will always have a touch of melancholy now.
But I think that makes us appreciate everything we have
that much more.
Merry Christmas to you, my wonderful friends!!
May your hearts be light and overflowing with joy this Christmas.

Sending you love and hugs from some sunshine to the snow! I *get* that strange feeling that Christmas can bring - we have (as you know) had an exhausting 4 weeks and my dad came home yesterday.
Merry Christmas to the 5 Sweet Peas! And thank you for coming into my life this year x

Merry Xmas Sheri! I can absolutely understand how hard it is to celebrate after experiencing the loss of your loved ones. I am glad your daughters bring joy to your life! Enjoy your day as much as you can.
Merry Christmas :) I hope you and your family had a wonderful time! The holidays are great but they do tend to be sad as well...I think it just comes with it. But your daughters seem so sweet and I'm sure they had such a good Christmas!
