Singin' and Snowin'

We had CRAZY weather here today.

It snowed overnight and into this morning

causing chaos throughout the city.

My littlest girl, my Mom and I had plans

to go downtown today.

We weren't sure we should with the amount of 

snow out there.

We did anyway.

It got better as the day went on so yay!

We didn't have to change our plans.

We went to see my old Christmas choir

that I used to sing with.

When I had a job.

I sang with this choir for 10 years,

each October we would start rehearsing, 

and then we would perform for an hour

everyday for 1 week in December 

in our office building downtown.

It also expanded to performances

at a local park here.

And then last year, we and 2 other downtown choirs

got together to perform at a 

beautiful church downtown.

The finale is all 3 choirs singing the

Hallelujah chorus together.

It brings me to tears.

It's so amazing!

Because I'm not working right now 

I had to skip the choir this year.

But that meant I got to go watch!

It was magical.

This is a video that circulated last year and I just love it.

It's a Hallelujah chorus flash mob at a food court!

The end gives me goosebumps, they sound so good!

Perfect day for Christmas music since it looks like 

a Winter Wonderland out there.

My girls are off school for the next couple of days.

I am so looking forward to hanging out

at home with them.

Or....

dropping them off at Grandma and Grandpa's so I can

do some Christmas shopping.

Hmmm....

We'll see!

I can't say I would, I am so afraid of heights.

One year, hubs and I went to Moab, Utah with some friends and

hiked up to the Big Arch.

My friend and I wanted to go stand underneath it.

It gradually drops off behind the arch.

I bawled my eyes out all the way out and I think I made it to the bottom of one side of the arch,

it was so windy.

But it was thrilling to have done it.

My hubby has been to Moab a bunch of times

he seriously loves to mountain bike.

In this pic he got off his bike and walked out to this giant rock

waaaaay high up.

This pic of him makes me think he reached the top of the world.

I love it.

Weekend Update

Hello sweet darlin's!

It's Monday again.

We did a bunch of Christmassy things this weekend.

We put up our tree

and the girls and I did some artwork.

I got these ideas from Pinterest and I think they 

turned out pretty cute.

My sister and I went out on Saturday night and had an absolute

BLAST!

We have the same weird sense of humour, things that are funny

to us,

others would probably go...

huh?

We went out for some appies and drinks and then to a movie.

I wish we could do it more often!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Hello beautifuls!

Happy happy Friday!

I am looking forward to this weekend.

We have lots of fun things planned.

Visiting Santa with the girls, putting up our Christmas tree,

going out Saturday night with my sis.

Good things, as Martha would say.

Here are my fill it in answers for the week!

1.   Waking up at the break of dawn to go shopping is my idea of  a super fun day!  We do have some big sales here in Canada today but nothing like my American friends.

2.   If I were to go shopping today I would be on the hunt for clothes and boots.  Always.

3.  The best thing I ate yesterday was chicken parmigiana that I made for supper.  It was deeelish.

4. Something I've been learning lately is patience.  I am not.  But I'm getting better.

5.  I cannot start my day without hugs and kisses from my girls.

6.  My nighttime attire consists of  right now, fuzzy warm bright pink pj top and fuzzy warm plaid pink bottoms.  Real perty.  Sorry hubs.

7.  I am looking forward to Saturday night out with my sister.  Dinner and a movie!

Monday Mingle and a musical weekend

Good Monday Morning, my sweet peas!

Did you have a good weekend?

We reaaaally enjoyed the dinner theater we went to

this weekend.

It was a musical based on a fictional stop at an Iowa cafe with Ritchie Valens,

Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper before their last ever concert.

It was all upbeat and happy and the music was so FUN!

I may have had a yummo drink called Fools Paradise

and maybe some wine.

 ; )

SOOOO COLD here right now.

Fill in the Blank Friday

It seems like I just did a Fill in the Blank Friday

and here we are again, sweet peas!

How was everyone's week?

Good?  Yes?

Mine was good.

I got some job-hunting things accomplished.

I am being picky but I am frustrating myself by being that way.

I just don't want to accept a job that I cannot get excited about.

That would make mama a super grumpy lady.

No one needs to see that.

Ain't pretty, ya'll.

*I like to write ya'll even though I would never say it out loud.*

haha...I digress.

I am excited for the weekend.

We are going to a dinner theater!!

It's a musical.

Music and food and I get to get a bit dressy.

Woohoo!

Can't wait!

Ok here are my answers for fill it in!

1.   A nervous habit I have is picking at my upper lip.  That sounds so gross, it's more that I pull at it....there is no way to make that sound normal. 

2.   Something that makes me sad is when you think someone is your friend and you realize they just don't care.  I was super disappointed this week.  I think I expect too much from people sometimes all the time.  

3.  Today I am thankful for my family.  It's cliche and boring but they fill me up with happiness every single day.

4. My favorite room in my house is our living room.  We spend most of our time there as a family.  I love it during the holidays with the Christmas tree lights on and fireplace going.  Pretty.

5.  I can't stand the smell of coffee.  I know, I know, some of you are like, what??!  I tolerate it because it's everywhere but if I could avoid it forever, that'd be cool.

6.  If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would probably spend it on clothes for my girls.  It's fun!

7.  The last person I hung out with was my sister.  She had me over for lunch, it was so FAB!

Celebrity Style Crush - Maria Menounos

I must be in a total 'style' mode this week!

This is the 3rd style post I have done this week.

I saw a tweet from Maria Menounos yesterday

and I thought, oh I HAVE to do a style crush post on her!

She is one my fave tv personalities and I think she is a great role model.

Maria is an enterainment reporter and has been on Entertainment Tonight,

Access Hollywood and now Extra.

She has great style and many times wears fashions from H&M

and stores that you and I can afford.

I like that.

She is also dedicated to empowering us girls to organize our lives

and learn how to do anything and everything ourselves.

Her book,

The Everygirl's Guide to Life

is on my Christmas list!

It's been out for a while, I'm a bit behind the times but

I cannot wait to check it out.

Maria also featured some how-to videos on bing.com

which I loved!!!

She featured her bathroom and showed us how she organizes all 

her things.

It inspired me to do mine.

It made me so HAPPY to have everything organized.

I just love it.

Girls had soccer and swimming.

We saw The Smurfs as I mentioned in my VLOG!

It was actually really good!

Hubs and I even got to go out with friends for dinner 

on Saturday night.

Mexican food.

Oh drool.

It was so fantastic, really neat little restaurant.

Such a treat to go out.

2.   Something I am thankful for is the 4 day weekend, starting today!

3.  Something that made me laugh this week was last night, Sheldon on Big Bang Theory saying 'Come back you stupid bird, so I can LOVE YOU!'  I cracked UP! If you didn't see it sorry.  This will sound so lame.

4. An item that is currently on my wish list is hmmm...see THIS post. ; )

5.  I am excited about going out with friends on Saturday night.  It's been way too long, looking forward to smiling and laughing for a little while.

6.  If I were a color I would be  purple.  It's my fave.

7.  My favorite way to spend a chilly fall day is by  watching afternoon movies with popcorn and blankets.
