Hey sweet peas!
It's Tuesday, and I was perusing some blogs and saw a link party over at
Miss Mommy's blog.
She says to post a list of 10 anything. 10 favourite books, 10 favourite pics on Pinterest.
Anything!
It's a great way to get to know each other better.
My Tuesday 10 is my 10 Favourite Movies.
I thought this might be a tough one, to come up with 10 movies that I love.
But surprisingly it wasn't.
Most of these are movies that I could watch over and over and never get tired of.
Here they are in no particular order! This is going to be long-winded.
1. Legally Blonde - a fun escape, as you may or may not know, I love Reese Witherspoon. For whatever reason, this movie makes me smile and it always brightens my mood. She is just so happy and good.
2. Practical Magic - I like the sisterly bond in this movie
3. 50 First Dates - SO hilarious. Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. One of my faves. I saw this movie in the theater a few weeks after my twin babies were born. It was my first night out since their birth and it was so free-ing to be out! I also sobbed like a baby at the end when she comes up from below the boat deck.....ugh, it still gets me. In a really good way though!
4. The Sound of Music - I always used to watch this on Christmas Eve when I was a teenager. My sister and I would sleep in the basement and make a big comfy bed out of sleeping bags and pillows. It would start around midnight and I'd only make it about an hour and then I'd fall asleep. I finally bought it so I can watch it whenever I like. But to this day it reminds me of the wonderful feeling of Christmas Eve.
5. Some Like it Hot - Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon. I was never an old movie fan but in University I took a Film class and we watched all sorts of 'interesting' movies. This was one of the better ones and I fell in love with it. It's funny and innocent and cute and I still love it to this day. Highly recommend it!
Let's take a break...I feel the need to explain...as you can see, I like happy, girly, fun movies. Since I had babies, I sincerely cannot stand to watch anything too serious.
Especially if it involves kids in a negative way.
(I read The Lovely Bones after my twins were born and it scarred me for life...great book, bad timing, I can't see the movie and probably never will).
I used to tease my Mom about how she couldn't stand to watch violent movies. Well, I'm eatin' crow now!
I get it, Mom. : )
Ok, back to the list!
6. Life is Beautiful - Ok one exception to what I just finished telling you. This movie was amazing and yes I sobbed for an hour after (father and son in a concentration camp....can you imagine how that affected me?!) This is one I don't watch over and over. But it is exactly as the title suggests, beauty amongst something so ugly.
7. National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation - oh how I love this movie! Honestly! It is a must for me each and every Christmas. It puts me in the Christmas spirit, it's just not Christmas without watching this movie! I laugh every single year. Yes, I own it. Classic.
8. To Kill a Mockingbird - this is another movie I can't really watch over and over but it was such a great movie, another classic. I really love Gregory Peck (and Cary Grant she says randomly, he's not in this one) so really, any movie with them will do. I really am not an old movie fan, but these two guys were real movie stars!
9. The Holiday - I really like Cameron Diaz, Something About Mary is another good one I like to watch now and again. The Holiday is one that I like to watch as I curl up on my couch on a snowy winter day with a cup of chai latte and my favourite pillow and blankie. The movie just feels like a warm, cozy blanket. And I swoon over that 'tent' in the girl's room...
10. The Hangover - aaahhh betcha didn't see that one coming did ya?! I had no desire whatsoever to see this movie. But when my hubby and I watched it, I was a fan. I laughed so hard, and it was such a surprise. Love those crazy boys!
